Urban Dirt, the District's landscape contractor, will be "turning the mulch" in all established streetscape and park tree mulch rings over the next few weeks.  Turning the mulch allows us to break up compacted mulch and remove mulch off the base of trees, if needed.  In instances where mulch is warranted, the District's Landscape contractor will add mulch as needed.  Newly planted streetscape trees will receive fresh mulch.
